These piggyback onto the bottom of the stock shock plate mounting nuts, and then 4 more nuts hold these tie down brackets on. No disassembly necessary, just slide the brackets over the extra thread on your U-bolts, install the included nuts, tighten them down and you’re done. Less than 10 minutes to install. You must have at least ¾” of extra thread hanging down on the bottom of your U-bolts to fit the ¼” thick tie down bracket and another nut. These eliminate all the hassles that come with using axle straps. Fits A, B, and E bodies with the standard shock plates like shown in the pictures. These do not fit cars with a 7 ¼ rear axle.
MADE IN THE USA

Just FYI, the Caltrac tie down bracket I offer may require a little more effort than just bolting them on depending on which version of the Caltrac spring plates you have. Caltrac had 2 different versions, 1 had round holes where the u-bolts go through and my tie-down brackets will bolt right up to those without issue. The 2nd version of the Caltrac spring plate had oval holes where the u-bolts go through, the oval holes could allow the u-bolt to spread apart while it is being tightened. If that happened my tie down brackets will not slide right over the u-bolt because the ends are further apart. What you would have to do in that case is loosen up your u-bolts, squeeze them back together, and tighten the nuts up again.
A 3″ u-bolt with 1/2″ thread should measure about 3 1/2″ center to center, if yours measure more than that at the ends you know that the u-bolt has spread and you have the oval hole Caltrac plates.

I just wanted to make sure you knew the possibility before you purchased the Caltrac brackets.

Fits 3″ U bolts Rear trailer tie down brackets for 3″ U bolts and Caltracs.
